Hi Neighbors,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hoping to keep everyone informed and ensure those of us who can, get a chance
to enjoy some time with JV neighbors over the holidays…
Jamaica Village Notifications
First off, some event notifications:
• JV Clubhouse
Holiday Decorating Efforts – For those of you who have the
talent to decorate, you are invited to attend and help the Holiday Party
Committee decorate the Clubhouse on Saturday, November 25th at 9:00 AM.
This year’s Holiday Party will be chaired by Donna Patrick and Miki Kiser.
Thanks to them and the other members of the Committee for renewing this
wonderful Village tradition.
• 2023 JV Holiday
Party – Sunday, December 17th at 5:00 PM at the JV Clubhouse.
Please hold the date for this year’s party. More details/invitations to
follow…
JV Ad Hoc Committees
As planned, the Village’s committees were formed, met, and have begun working
on a multitude of issues and projects for the expected benefit of our
neighborhood. So many good people with great ideas and insights!
Personally, it’s been my privilege to have had this chance to meet, work with,
and get to know more of you.
Through their efforts, the Village now has the following committees in place:
• Capital Projects
• Color Palette
• Clubhouse/Social/Events
• Docks
• Finance
• Kayak Rack/Beach
• Landscape
Anticipate that shortly after the New Year will be able to provide more insight
as to the specific efforts of each, but in the meantime do want to preview
briefly efforts to create a calendar of Jamaica Village social events in the
coming year. In addition to the renewal of the Holiday Party and ever
popular Thursday Night Happy Hour – or three – (summer), preliminary efforts
are underway to add several more events, including Super Bowl and Kentucky
Derby Parties in the Clubhouse, a kayak/SUP flotilla outing, bocce ball
tournament, a chili cook-off, cooking class, and a book club, to name a
few. Volunteers for such events will be welcomed and solicited as more
solid plans move forward.
We, in Jamaica Village, live in a beautiful place and a special little
‘Village.’ Am hopeful each one of us can find just a bit more time in the
coming year to enjoy JV, to meet our neighbors, and to make some new friends.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and don’t be a stranger when you see me.
