Dear Coronado Cays Homeowners and Residents,
Happy Holidays! Hopefully you have had the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with the many celebrations and events occurring in Coronado and San Diego. We are working hard to stay on the nice-list and are done with the installation of our holiday lights!

What is going on in Grand Caribe Shoreline Park?
If you have taken a recent walk on the trails at Grand Caribe Shoreline Park, you certainly noticed some significant changes. San Diego Unified Port District is renovating the northern portion of the park with native plants and trees. The turf area around the sculpture will remain. And the Port is filling in underplanted areas with native plants (and removing non-natives), adding boulders for accents, and repairing irrigation. These improvements should be done before Summer 2025!
Coronado Rotary Music Competition
This competition is open to high school students who live in Coronado or attend school in Coronado (or both). Information on how to enter your video submission is available here. The deadline to enter is December 13th, 2024.
Boaters
Did you know that all motorized vessel operators aged 60 and younger are required to complete a boating safety course and obtain a California Boater Card. And, starting in 2025, the over-60 crowd will need their Boater Card as well. To apply for your California Boater Card, you will need to pay $10 and take an online boating safety course such as the Boat U.S. Foundation Class for California (free, it will take a few hours). You should get your card in less than a week and you can do the whole process from your computer!

Landscape Maintenance
Our tireless landscape team has been catching up on weeding, trimming, and detailing after the lawn scalping and reseeding job. While we have had a couple of light rains so far this year, we are still behind our normal rainfall to date for the season. We will continue to watch the weather!
The Crossman enhancement team has been busy installing new plant material in Montego, Jamaica, Bahama, Antigua, Kingston, Trinidad, and Port Royale Villages. Seasonal color was added to the Cays entrance circle adjacent to the kiosk and the Blue Anchor monument. New bark mulch was installed in Antigua Village. Repairs are in progress at the Cays entrance median after a vehicle ran over a portion of the landscaping.
Antigua Fan Palms were trimmed the week of November 15th. Deciduous trees in the common area are scheduled to be trimmed the week of December 16th.
