Great Opportunity Thursday, April 3

3/28/2014

We all love living here and cherish our access to the San Diego Bay. We have an opportunity this Thursday to hear about the master planning process currently underway bythe Port Authority and become part of that process.

Keith Walzak, Environment and Land Use Manager for the Port Authority, has been giving presentations to both large and small groups around the bay.  We can hear his presentation this Thursday, April 3, at 4:00 p.m. in the Grande Caribe Room at 501 Grand Caribe Cswy, Coronado CA 92118

He will be covering:

    • history and purpose of the port

    • need for master plan changes

    • skills of the nationwide consulting team HKS

    • process of gathering stakeholder input from all six cities

    • use of the public's ideas and the five-year timeline ahead

    • maps of development, open space and water depths

    • photography of current businesses, parks and features of San Diego Bay

This would largely be informational, but there is time for questions to and from the audience.

There have been a number of public interactive workshops with the consultant team and port staff. In case you cannot make the meeting, the results and other aspects of this integrative, long range visionary process can be found on the special web site www.portforall.org. There is also a survey on the site which folks can use to share their views and hopes.

Please try to make time for this informative meeting. Our perspective as South Bay residents is very important to this process. See you there!
