Trinidad Contact Info Request

10/8/2013

Trinidad Village Residents and Owners,

Though I sent an email earlier about our Village status, I am sending this letter to cover the same topics since I do not have everyone's email and contact info. Please return the requested contact information at the bottom of this letter to the CCHOA office via mail or just drop it off. You can also email or provide the contact info directly to me at hdurgin@san.rr.com or 104 Trinidad Bend. This will allow me to reliably provide important Village information to all residents.

Hopefully you all know that after our Village experienced three Coral Tree limb/trunk failures in a two month time period this summer. A special inspection of our nine Coral Trees was conducted by an expert Arborist to determine whether we had a
problem with our Coral Trees. The inspection revealed that eight of the nine Coral Trees had a high or severe risk of failure. The one Coral Tree not rated as high or severe had a limb failure a few days after the inspection was conducted. Accordingly, due to safety considerations and the liability risks a decision was made to remove these Coral Trees and replace them as
appropriate.

The tree removal contractor began to remove our Coral Trees on 8 October. The process will take about seven to 10 days. Our landscape coordinator, Sharyn Blongiewicz will lead a committee of Trinidad Residents to come up with a recommended plan for replacing the Coral Trees and renovating our T-Mall area. Tree roots will be removed. Due to other work commitments, our landscaping crew will not be able to begin the replacement/renovation process until the beginning of December. New trees will first be planted, then drought resistant shrubs and plants will be added. The irrigation system will be rerouted as appropriate and new benches and walkway lights will be purchased and installed. The work is expected to be finished by February. When I
know the specifics of the renovation plan, I will let everyone know.

As you know, there is an ongoing process to make the Cays Entrance safer for both motorists and bicyclists. Please go to the CCHOA website at cchoa.org in order to view the proposed concepts that have been discussed at three public workshops over the past few months. I encourage all of you to go to the link that will take you to a survey where you can express your opinion about what should be done. This Cays Entrance Survey has a deadline of October 11, 2013.

Regarding the ongoing project to paint the wood and metal trim of our homes, 75 homes are completed. The paint project is very much on track with only minor issues and those have been taken care of. Our Maintenance Manager Tim Burns estimates about three more weeks till the painting of our homes’ wood and metal trim is done.

Lastly, this is another reminder that our Village is scheduled for a Holiday party on Sunday 8 December at the Trinidad Village Clubhouse. The exact start time has not yet been determined.

Mike
Durgin, Village Director

PS -
I still need a Safety Committee volunteer to represent our Village in the important task of getting prepared for any disasters/fires/etc. that could occur, and knowing what to do should such an event take place.
